News - Laksha Deepam at Annamalaiyar temple

Laksha Deepam was performed in the Annamalaiyar temple at Tiruvannamalai on the eve of the Shivarathri festival.

All the corridors and pathways of the temple were illuminated by the agal vilakkus (earthen lamps) on an otherwise dark Sunday evening. Salt and colour images of the deities adorned the temple.

Several thousands of devotees from all over the State thronged the temple for a glimpse of the deity Shiva.

It took several hours for the devotees to have a darshan at the sanctum sanctorum.
