Arunachala Deepam 2011 - Special coverage

Sri Arunachaleswarar Temple here to witness the flag-hoisting ritual, marking the commencement of the 10-day ‘Karthigai Deepam’ festival on Thursday.

The ‘utsavar’ deities of Sri Vinayakar and Sri Chandrasekharar will be taken in procession in the mornings on all days from Tuesday to Friday. The ‘Maharathams’ will be taken out in a procession through the four ‘mada’ streets on Decembr 05th on the seventh day of the festival.

The ‘Bharani Deepam’ will be lit inside the temple on December 08th 4am and the ‘Maha Deepam,’ a top the Annamalai Hills on December 08th 6pm.
